Small businesses across Birmingham were recognized Sunday night at the third annual Small Business Awards, an event organizers say is about more than just celebration.
The ceremony, held at The Fennec in downtown Birmingham, honored 16 local businesses for their resilience and impact on the community while also raising money to support future entrepreneurs.
“This is a celebration of those small business owners that have kind of pushed through,” said Naila Jackson, founder and CEO of Network Navigator. “We’ve had some rough, tumultuous times with the economy, layoffs and businesses shuttering. These are the champions that have fought through that and had that staying power.”
